John was a great brother-in-law who, with his father, introduced me to golf. I have fond memories of we three waiting at the gates of Beckenham Golf Course each Saturday morning before dawn so that we could be the first group out. John also taught me that you have to talk to the ball after you hit it; "to encourage it to go where you want". Just some of my many memories of John Ray
